JOB DESCRIPTION
The probation service's operations should be clear and predictable, achieved by performing work according to established routines. The assignment is dual: to both supervise and support clients, regardless of role within the organization. Collaboration with other societal actors is central to ensure that clients receive the right support. An important part of the work is to follow up that the convicted person adheres to their conditions and to manage deviations through decisions and measures within the authority's exercise of power.
As a probation inspector, you will work with clients who are conditionally released or sentenced to probation. The work is based on conversation methodology grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and focuses on motivation and change. The probation service is also responsible for intensive supervision with electronic monitoring (ankle bracelet) and community service. The work includes investigations, risk and needs assessments, and planning for enforcement. Prior to court hearings, personal investigations and statements to the court are made.
The work at the Hudiksvall probation service is organized into teams that either work with supervision or with investigation, planning, community service, and intensive supervision. The office also conducts treatment programs based on evidence-based practices, primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory, focused on crime, violence, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Experience in program management is an asset.
The position also includes work within the Probation Control and Preparedness (FKB), including home visits, workplace visits, and sobriety checks. The work involves some evening and weekend shifts according to a schedule, as well as extended working hours once a month until 18:12.
