About Me:
I am a soon-to-be 18-year-old guy living with my mom and little brother in Gävle. I have personal assistance around the clock, which allows me to live an independent life with family, friends, hobbies, and daily activities.
During the day, I work at a daily activity center, and in my free time, I enjoy taking walks, swimming, hanging out with friends, participating in activities, and relaxing in front of the TV. I am an active person who appreciates both social gatherings and quieter moments at home. As my assistant, you are an important part of my daily life and enable me to live my life on my terms.
About the Position
We are now looking for a staff member for a temporary position of 75-80%. The position primarily involves night work, but occasional day shifts may occur as needed. The temporary position extends until August, with a good possibility of extension for the right person. We are looking for someone who is responsible, flexible, and enjoys working independently during the night. You are confident in your role and can easily collaborate when needed.
To be employed, you must present valid ID, a personal certificate, any documents that prove your right to work in Sweden, and a police record extract. This can be ordered at www.polisen.se (https://www.polisen.se). Choose the extract titled Work with children with disabilities.
The tasks include support in daily life such as:
- Personal care and close personal needs
- Communication in speech and writing
- Household chores such as cleaning and shopping
- Accompanying on activities and hobbies
Staffing Responsibility:
The position also includes an extended responsibility as staffing coordinator, according to a rotating schedule among assistants. This means that you may need to take calls from colleagues in case of illness and be responsible for solving staffing issues. If no one else can step in, you may need to cover the shift yourself. The assignment is compensated. You will be employed through Assistans i Balans, which provides you with a secure employment with thorough introduction, guidance, and opportunities for further education.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Good physical ability
- Swim competent and able to accompany swimming
- Non-smoker during working hours
- Does not use perfume or strongly scented products during shifts
- Detail-oriented and has a good sense of details
- Calm, secure, and patient
- Ability to work with respect for self-determination - you assist me in my life
- Enjoys working with children
Meritorious
- Experience working as a personal assistant
- Experience with stoma
- Experience with tube feeding
- Experience with autism
