Junior Data Scientist at the Payment Authority

Responsibilities and Tasks

As a junior data scientist, you will, together with colleagues in a cross-functional team, develop new data analysis solutions and test the feasibility and accuracy of these solutions to optimize results.

Your work will include identifying data, assisting in the integration of new data flows, and determining how the data regarding payments identified by the data analysis should be presented. You will also work on deploying the solutions and following up on their effectiveness.

You will also assist in developing the organization and creating conditions for a legally secure and efficient data analysis process. The work requires close collaboration with other authorities and stakeholders.

The role of data scientist is located in the data analysis department, which is tasked with developing and managing data analyses that identify incorrect payments from welfare authorities and other actors. To conduct data analyses, the agency has an extensive data warehouse that is being gradually expanded.

We are looking for someone who has

• A degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or another relevant field for the role
• Experience in creating and implementing analytical models
• Experience in programming, for example, in Python
• Experience in querying large datasets using SQL
• Good communication skills in Swedish

It is an advantage if you also have

• Experience with agile working methods
• Experience in machine learning, various predictive models, and/or generative AI

Skills and Abilities

To succeed in the role of junior data scientist at the Payment Authority, you are goal-oriented, results-driven, creative, and proactive. You have good collaboration skills and strong problem-solving analytical abilities.

Other Information

The place of employment is in Stockholm. The agency is located in modern premises near Gullmarsplan. Security clearance may be required. The position is a permanent full-time employment. A six-month probation period may be applicable. You may be assigned to the agency in case of war.
