Operations Controller at the Swedish Energy Agency

Your Responsibilities – Contribute to Effective Operational Management

As a centrally located operations controller, you will work closely with the agency's management on issues related to operational management. An important part of your role will be to serve as the agency's risk coordinator, where you will work with internal governance and control, coordinating risk analyses from various perspectives. Another important part of your role will be to coordinate and contribute to other tasks related to operational management. You will work in close collaboration with other colleagues within the section and other parts of the organization.

Qualifications

For the role of operations controller, we are looking for someone with the following experience and knowledge:

  • A university degree in a field that the Swedish Energy Agency considers relevant or equivalent
  • Several years of experience working with operational management within public administration, such as operational planning, quarterly follow-ups, and annual reports
  • Current relevant experience from working at a government agency
  • Experience in internal governance and control
  • Experience in systematic quality development
  • Experience in analysis and investigative work
  • Good skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Good knowledge of relevant IT systems and programs

It is an advantage if you have experience in change management and coordinating and driving complex assignments.

About Us

The Planning and Budget Secretariat is part of the Swedish Energy Agency's staff and is led by the Chief Financial Officer. Here, 14 driven and engaged operational and financial controllers work and look forward to welcoming you to the secretariat. We focus on governance issues and coordinate contacts with the Government Offices and written governance from the government, such as appropriation letters, assignments, and instructions. We work to ensure that the agency has an effective environmental and energy management process and coordinate the agency's follow-up and reporting through quarterly reports, annual reports, gender equality integration, and sustainability work. In addition, we manage and develop the agency's leadership and governance processes.

Good to Know

The position is a permanent employment with an initial six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement. Positions within the Swedish Energy Agency may be placed in a security class, which means security screening and background checks according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Upon permanent employment, it may be relevant to be placed in the agency in case of war.
