Family Unit Gottsunda
The Family Unit Gottsunda is one of three family units in Uppsala Municipality. The team consists of about 15 employees. The Family Unit has a broad mandate and works both preventively and outreach, as well as with families in crisis and with significant needs. To be the best support for children and young people and their families, we work with various methods and support interventions tailored to the specific situation. We also offer various parenting education programs and parent groups.
Job Description
As a family therapist, you will work with children and young people aged 0-20 years and their parents to support them in their parenting. The work takes place both in shorter conversation series without assistance decisions and at the request of caseworkers after completed investigations. You will work both at the reception, in families' homes, and meet families in various forums in the area, such as at the family center. You will collaborate with various community actors, such as schools and maternal and child health care.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer deems relevant for the position. You have previous experience in treatment work with children, young people, and their families. The position requires good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. Training in basic psychotherapy, Step 1, and systems theory education is an advantage.
You work well with others and create good relationships by being attentive, flexible, and communicative. You listen to different perspectives and handle conflicts constructively. You have good empathetic ability and can understand the situations of children, young people, and parents without taking over their feelings, allowing you to act professionally even in sensitive situations. As a person, you see the whole picture and consider the larger perspective in your work. You understand your role in social work and always act in the best interest of the child and family and the goals of the organization.
