Treatment Pedagogue at SiS LVM Home Lunden

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Lunden receives women with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We accept clients who have mental health issues and clients who need medical care. Our operations are based in Lund.

Job Description

Do you want to help create life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and participate in ensuring that daily life runs smoothly with activities, cooking, and more. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The job may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

We will also arrange mandatory training on June 10-11 - full days.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are secure in yourself and easily build relationships with clients as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
  • A valid driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

  • Experience in addiction care
  • Experience with LARO
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., prison officer
  • Security guard training
  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., caseworker at the detention center
  • Training in care and nursing

Employment:

The application deadline is April 13.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.

We plan to conduct interviews during weeks 17-18, but we will contact you to schedule an interview time that suits both you and us.
