Bergums Farm seeks Support Assistant

Bergums Farm is an outreach daily activity according to LSS for adults.

Our work is based on each participant's individual needs, goals, conditions, interests, and wishes. The goal is to create a meaningful, motivating, and stimulating everyday life where development is at the center.

Responsibilities as a Support Assistant with us:

• Plan and implement meaningful and pedagogically thought-out activities together with colleagues.
• Be a contact person and take responsibility for all parts of the assignment, including contact with relatives, social workers, and other partners.
• Establish and follow up on implementation plans and document according to IBIC, including daily notes and summaries.
• Support, motivate, and coach participants in their daily activities based on individual needs.
• Participate in and contribute to professional development by sharing and utilizing new knowledge and technology.
• Contribute to quality development work within the organization.
• Contribute to a good work environment and a positive collaborative climate.

In the unit, six support assistants and one support educator work together with about 19 participants (the number may vary). We work activity-based and offer group activities in groups of 4–5 people. Animal group: Daily care of all the farm's animals. Fixing group: Seasonal tasks such as lawn mowing, snow shoveling, firewood work, fence building, simple carpentry, and maintenance. Kitchen group: Preparing lunch for the organization, preparing snacks/kiosk, running a café, cleaning, dishwashing, etc. Gardening: From April to October, all interested participants are offered to participate in gardening in greenhouses and open fields.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other training that the employer deems equivalent.

A requirement for the position is experience with the target group of autism, as well as intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities. We also see that you enjoy working with animals. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in daily activities and have experience with social documentation in Treserva. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge of gardening and horticulture. We consider it desirable if you have a driver's license. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.
