Support Assistant at Loftet in Lerum Municipality
Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently undergoing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality is working to ensure good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.
Recently, Dagens Samhälle named Lerum the winner in the category of metropolitan municipalities (2025) - an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities in areas such as education, healthcare, economy, culture and leisure, attractiveness, business, and future factors like digitalization and civil preparedness. We are now a Super Municipality!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Loftet is a residential facility with special services according to LSS located in Gråbo. The facility has staffing around the clock and houses 4 apartments. The target group is adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. We are now looking for a knowledgeable and positive support assistant.
As a support assistant at Loftet, you will work together with other support assistants and support pedagogues to support and motivate the tenants regarding both care and support needs as well as practical daily tasks.
The work is always based on each individual's needs, resources, and abilities. As a support assistant, you work towards increased independence, a sense of participation, and influence for the tenants both in their homes and out in the community.
We place great emphasis on a pedagogical approach and knowledge in documentation.
Using clear pedagogical methods, you as a support assistant will support the tenant to create an individualized structure in their daily life.
The tenant's implementation plan serves as the foundation for the work. You and your colleagues are responsible for maintaining and following up on it.
We offer you a meaningful and varied job with the opportunity to make a difference.
At Loftet, work is scheduled in Timecare. Shifts include two weekends per four-week period. Work occurs at all hours of the day, including night shifts.
Starting in the autumn of 2026, a major renovation of Loftet will take place, expected to be completed by autumn 2027. With this renovation, more apartments will be added, and the operation will increase in size.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has completed the Care Program or another education that the employer finds equivalent.
Previous experience in care work is an advantage. You have good computer skills and the ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. Experience with clear pedagogical methods is desirable.
If you have knowledge and experience regarding autism, challenging behavior, and alternative and augmentative communication such as sign language support, this is an advantage.
You as a person have a good sense of humor, are clear in your communication, and it is natural for you to use a low-arousal approach and to have a reflective attitude.
You need to be able to adapt and prioritize your work according to the needs of the tenants and the operation.
A driver's license is desirable.
The position is filled under the condition that it does not need to be allocated to already permanently employed staff.
Interviews will be conducted continuously during the recruitment period.
Before an employment offer, an acceptable extract from the Police Authority's criminal record must be presented.
