Residential Support Worker for Psychiatric Housing
Ulricehamn Municipality is in an exciting growth phase - we are growing while preserving the small-scale. As the largest employer with over 2,200 employees in 100 different professional roles, we offer a meaningful work life where development, community, and social benefit meet. With Vision 2040 - "Together Towards the Future" - we shape an innovative and sustainable everyday life, together. With us, you make a real difference every day, in a culture characterized by courage, commitment, and opportunities to grow, both professionally and personally.
The welfare sector consists of four operations: disability services, home care and home health care, individual and family care (IFO), and care and nursing homes. IFO is responsible for the following operations: support for children, young people, and their families, support for adults, financial assistance/economic support, as well as labor market initiatives and reception of newcomers.
The housing unit consists of two parts: social psychiatric housing and homes for care or housing (HVB). As the current psychiatric housing will be complemented by an additional housing by 2026, a recruitment need has arisen. The current psychiatric housing consists of eleven support workers, but an additional ten employees will be recruited in connection with the opening of the new psychiatric housing. This includes three to four support workers for night shifts. The workgroup consists of a coordinator, treatment assistants, support workers, and support staff for night shifts. In our operations, we base our work on a systemic approach and use low-arousal responses. Support workers are part of a work team that is scheduled according to the needs of the operation, with awake night shifts on weekdays and weekends. Currently, two support workers are on duty every night.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The work consists of supporting adults who have a decision for housing with special services based on their psychiatric issues, such as psychosis or comorbidity. The support is provided in a way that develops and strengthens the individual's ability to structure their daily life in the short or long term. We strive for a high degree of user influence, and support measures are designed and adapted for each individual and formulated in an implementation plan.

You are a calm and stable person, with the ability to maintain composure even in stressful situations. You work in a structured manner and have good problem-solving skills, while also being flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
You feel comfortable making your own decisions and taking initiative, but you also enjoy collaborating in a team and with other professionals around the individual.
Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for the position. To thrive in the role of support worker, you need to have good empathetic skills and be able to relate to both users and colleagues in a responsive and respectful manner.
