Family Therapist for Youth Resource Center

We are now looking for two new family therapists for the Youth Resource Center in the social services department of Centrum.

We work with family treatment interventions that are approved for assistance according to SoL and are also developing our work with interventions without assistance assessment.

We are a unit of a total of 22 family and youth therapists with three method supervisors. The target group for our work is children and adolescents aged 11–20 and their families and networks. We also have a very close collaboration with our sister unit that works with children aged 0–10. At the Youth Resource Center, there is also KAA, the municipal activity responsibility, an infant program, and a team that works with high-intensity interventions across the entire age group. You will belong to a newly started team of a total of five family therapists and one method supervisor focusing on the target group 11–18. The team may expand.

We sit together in our brand new premises on Storgatan in central Gothenburg, right between Heden and Kungsportsavenyn. In our office on Storgatan, we are a total of 140 employees who all work with children, youth, and families in many different ways. Job Responsibilities

As a family therapist, you will work with psychosocial change efforts aimed at strengthening parenting, improving communication between family members, and enhancing relationships within families. The goal of the interventions is for families to develop their own strategies to handle the difficulties they face, with a strong focus on exploring the families' own needs and resources. We always strive, together with parents, clients, and other partners, to put the child at the center.

We are based on a systemic foundation and use various methods to achieve our goals. We offer family conversations in different constellations, and the work takes place both in our families' homes and in other arenas as well as in our premises. You will work both independently and with colleagues. With us, you will participate in the preparation and follow-up of treatment work and collaborate with other parties, internally in social services and externally with e.g. schools and BUP.

The operation is part of the Children and Youth department, and we actively work on implementing signs of safety in all our units. We document our work in the IT system Treserva. You will be offered regular process supervision with an external supervisor and internal method supervision.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has what the employer assesses as equivalent education. The assignment requires previous experience in family therapy, preferably at least 3 years. We consider it an advantage if you have experience in authority exercise within children and youth.

We also see it as advantageous if you have some form of further education and that you have good experience and knowledge of children's and adolescents' development and behavior patterns.

If you have experience working with signs of safety, we also see that as an advantage.

We work locally but also have operations that target the entire city to meet our residents' needs.
