Section's Mission
In special sections within the Employment Service, there are specialists for job seekers with disabilities related to vision, deafness, and hearing. The specialists include audiologists, deaf consultants, vision specialists, psychologists, and employment officers focused on SIUS.
The section belongs to the Jämtland/Härjedalen unit, responsible for the counties of Örebro, Värmland, Dalarna, and Gävleborg, but other counties in the Northern region may also be involved. The goal of our work is to create full participation and equality for individuals with the aforementioned disabilities by providing them with support and creating conditions for work or education.
Job Description
The role of the audiologist within the Employment Service focuses on being an active part of the labor market policy assessment. In all contacts with job seekers, we maintain a supportive and guiding approach. Documentation is an important and recurring aspect of the tasks. The work requires active collaboration both internally and externally.
The audiologists' task is to assess job seekers' capabilities for work or studies and to evaluate the need for adjustments in work/study. This includes interpreting medical documentation, assessing the need for, and testing assistive devices.
The Employment Service places great emphasis on digital development, which permeates all aspects of our work. Therefore, it is essential that you have both the willingness and ability to utilize digital tools.
The work also involves collaborating with various partners such as the Social Insurance Agency, hearing care, educational providers, and employers. Travel is a natural part of the job and occurs frequently. You should also be prepared for travel that may involve overnight stays in other locations.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may begin with a six-month probationary period. The placement location is Örebro or Borlänge.

Basic Requirements for the Position
- Audiology degree and license from the National Board of Health and Welfare
- Good knowledge of the working conditions for people with hearing impairments, tinnitus, and sound sensitivity
- Experience in assessing/evaluating hearing ability
- Experience with compensatory aids for individuals with hearing impairments
- Good knowledge of how adjustments, both technical and environmental, can improve conditions for people with hearing impairments in a work or study situation
- Driving license (B)
Other Qualifications for the Position
- Experience working with individuals with deafblindness
- Experience conducting motivational and solution-focused conversations
