Automation Specialist for Vocational Higher Education

Our education department is expanding rapidly. With seven agreements with various private and public vocational education providers, and a number of new clients with ongoing negotiations, we see an increased need for recruitment. Currently, we have three full-time employees, and our business plan aims to triple that number.

What will characterize our activities in the first and second quarters of 2026 is both a completely new webshop and a future-proof App Factory – both development areas are being created to not only keep up with the rapid technological advancements in various technical fields but also to ensure a lead in the increased competence requirements within the industry.

What we are looking for

Primarily, we are looking for an automation specialist who wants to teach the next generation in industrial automation. You have both theoretical knowledge and practical experience and enjoy standing in the classroom as much as troubleshooting, wiring, and programming in the workshop.

As an educator with us, you will not only teach – you will also be a key person in developing course content, mentoring projects, and creating pedagogical setups that prepare students for the realities of the industry. The assignment can be adjusted in scope and combined with other professional commitments.

Your competencies

We would like you to have experience in:

» PLC programming, primarily Siemens TIA Portal (Allen-Bradley/Beckhoff is a plus)

» HMI/SCADA, e.g., WinCC or similar systems

» Industrial networks and communication (Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA)

» Practical work with sensors, actuators, troubleshooting, and safe connections

» (Preferred) Robot programming, e.g., ABB or FANUC

General points

We work with both vocational schools and companies, so the ability to transfer knowledge to different professional groups is crucial! This requires a combination of lecture techniques and practical demonstrations – both remotely, at physical meetings, and at our corporate clients' sites.

Formal requirements

» At least a bachelor's degree or equivalent vocational education qualification (SeQF level 6 or higher)

» Strong background in one or more technically related subjects

Preferred

» Green Belt certification or higher

» Experience in teaching or mentoring

» Experience with operating systems other than Windows

» IT: Knowledge of hardware and software, including Raspberry Pi or similar systems

Practical aspects of the role

The tasks mainly consist of material preparation. Please indicate in bullet points, on a scale from 1 to 10 (where 1 = lowest and 10 = highest), your competencies in the following areas:

» Office programs: LibreOffice, Google Docs, MS Office

» Graphics: GIMP or similar

» Multimedia: OpenShot, OBS Studio or similar

» Drawings: Google SketchUp or other CAD applications

» Project management: ProjectLibre or similar
