Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently undergoing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. Lekstorpsskolan is a K-9 school and currently has about 420 students. The school is beautifully located with the forest directly adjacent. There are good connections between Lerum Municipality and Gothenburg.

We are now looking for a special teacher for grades 4-6 starting in August 2026.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special teacher, you are part of the student health team and are included in the school's special education team, which consists of two additional special teachers and two special educators. The entire special education team also collaborates with the school's lead teachers in a development group responsible for and driving the school's joint development work.

As a special teacher, you are a key person in the school's support organization where you, together with educators, follow up, analyze, and plan teaching and support measures based on screening results.

As a special teacher, you have a teaching assignment and conduct special education for students in need of support in groups or individually.

You provide support and guidance to staff regarding clarifying pedagogy/accessibility in the learning environment, establishing and following up on additional adaptations and action programs.

You conduct knowledge-specific pedagogical investigations and establish knowledge-specific action programs.

You also collaborate with external actors such as habilitation, speech therapists, the student health and development unit, and child and adolescent psychiatry. All documentation is done in the DF Respons system.

As a special teacher in Lerum Municipality, you participate in professional meetings five to six times per school year together with colleagues and professional developers.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a special teacher education. We prefer candidates with experience working as a special teacher in primary education.

We seek someone who is empathetic, unpretentious, and secure in their professional role.

You are structured and clear in your work and enjoy collaboration with other professionals. You take responsibility for your tasks, thrive in both independent and group work, and are accustomed to working with freedom under responsibility. You are professional and respectful in your interactions with students and in contact with guardians and colleagues. You are flexible and curious in your working methods.
