Kalmarsund Gymnasium Federation is a municipal federation responsible for conducting and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4000 students and 600 employees spread across our five schools.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your primary task as a teaching assistant is to support students throughout the school day. This mainly involves helping students in their studies and participating with them in practical/aesthetic subjects, physical education, swimming, and other activities offered by the school. Another important part is to be a role model for our students and guide them in social contexts. Some of our operations also include care work.

You will work closely with other teaching assistants and teaching staff to create a knowledge-developing and enjoyable school day for our students. Together, all staff work around the students to develop their knowledge and what they need in their daily lives and in society for a meaningful future after completing upper secondary school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education from the Child and Leisure Program, Health and Care Program, or equivalent education. Experience and knowledge from working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is an advantage.

Students in adapted upper secondary schools need a lot of support, and we are looking for someone who wants to contribute to their development. You need to see students' differences as enriching and work from a relational approach. Since you will become an important person in the work around our students, it is essential to be able to collaborate with your closest colleagues in the work team as well as other colleagues at the school.

In your work with our students, you need to be a role model and a secure adult, as well as be able to meet the students in a low-arousal manner. To succeed in your role as a teaching assistant, you need to take significant personal responsibility within the team. You also need to have proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and have some computer skills.

• Driver's license B
• Swimming proficiency

OTHER

Before an offer of employment, an acceptable extract from the police criminal record for work in schools must be presented.

The position is filled on the condition that it is not needed by surplus staff or that the necessary political decisions are made.
