At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are a total of about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

Do you want to lead in an organization characterized by current societal issues and a changing environment? At the reception unit in Boden, we work in a dynamic center environment where quality, legal certainty, and professional treatment are central.

We are now looking for team leaders who take clear responsibility in the operational management work. In this role, you are a leader and are responsible for ensuring that the work is conducted in a structured manner and according to the assignment. Several team leaders work in parallel, which places high demands on coordination, shared understanding, and a unified leadership throughout the organization.

What does a team leader do?

As a team leader, you represent the employer and support the manager in the operational management work. You are responsible for allocating resources, coordinating, and following up on the team's daily work, as well as reporting continuously to the unit manager.

You lead the team towards set goals and ensure that the work is conducted according to applicable regulations and established standards. Through a coaching and present leadership style, you guide the employees and create conditions for results, quality, and continuous development. You drive improvement work and develop methods and working practices in line with the needs of the organization.

You contribute to ensuring that the unit has a developing work environment, the right competencies, clear goals, good planning, and the right priorities.

The work is conducted in a center environment, which requires close and present leadership in daily operations. You are visible in the organization and work in an environment where several functions collaborate and where both operational and social situations can arise at short notice. The assignment requires structure, clarity, and good communication, as well as the ability to create security and stability for both employees and asylum seekers.

Collaboration between different roles and functions is crucial. You ensure that the work functions effectively and that information transfer occurs in a structured and legally secure manner. Through ongoing prioritization based on the needs of the organization, you contribute to a common focus and a clear shared understanding of the assignment.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident in their leadership. You lead through engagement and participation, even in times of change. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and can build trust both internally and externally. You work solution-focused and strategically, taking into account the best interests of the entire organization in your actions and decisions. You can quickly and judiciously weigh information and make swift decisions, even with limited information or difficult circumstances.

In our work as civil servants, there are also high demands for judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.

You who are applying have

  • A university education of at least 120 credits with a legal, social science, or behavioral science focus, or other education combined with relevant experience for the role
