We are looking for an experienced economist who wants to work in an organization where your work has a direct impact on society. This is a consulting assignment with a client in the public service sector. The need is immediate and runs until the end of September.

About the position

You will be part of a municipal operation responsible for water, heating, and district heating for approximately 4,500 customers. The organization consists of about 35 employees, of which 4-5 work in finance.

There is now a need to strengthen the team with an experienced economist who can contribute broadly to the operations. The role can be adapted to your background – with a focus either on controlling or accounting, but with elements from both areas.

Responsibilities

• Management of daily financial work, such as bookkeeping, monitoring, and controlling
• Collaboration with the organization's controller and support in certain areas of responsibility that normally fall under the finance manager level
• Contribute to the implementation of a new tool for financial monitoring and analysis
• Conduct financial analyses and work with separate accounting together with relevant parts of the organization
• Collaborate with team leaders and managers on issues related to invoicing and collection of financial data
• Support the finance department in various tasks based on current needs in the organization

• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and legislation
• Good knowledge of Excel and other relevant financial systems
• Ability to work independently, structured, and accurately
• Experience in preparing financial statements from start to finish
