Development Leader in the Field of Leisure

The Authority for Youth and Civil Society Issues (MUCF) is a government agency that develops knowledge about young people's living conditions and the conditions of civil society. Our vision is an open and inclusive Sweden with good conditions for young people and for civil society.

MUCF has been tasked by the government to work towards achieving the goals of youth policy and civil society policy. We do this by developing, collecting, and disseminating knowledge and contributing to the coordination of state initiatives. We collaborate with authorities, municipalities, regions, and organizations in civil society, as well as distributing state grants.

As of January 1, 2026, the agency's mission has expanded as we have taken over the responsibilities previously held by the Agency for Support to Religious Communities (SST) and the responsibility for state tasks within minority policy. This means that MUCF is an even more important actor in strengthening democracy, promoting participation, and contributing to an inclusive society.

MUCF has offices in Växjö and from February 2026 also in Stockholm.

Description

As a development leader in the field of leisure, you will work to develop, coordinate, and follow up on initiatives aimed at strengthening young people's access to equal and inclusive leisure activities. A rights-based youth perspective must be considered within the framework of the work.

You will continuously collaborate with municipalities, regions, civil society organizations, and other authorities to create good conditions for coordination and development.

Your role also includes preparing documentation, writing reports, and contributing to the work on government assignments. You will represent the agency in national contexts related to youth leisure and participate as needed in the agency's other work in other areas.

Qualifications

  • Academic education with a focus on social sciences, public health, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with issues related to youth leisure.
  • Experience working at a strategic level.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and following up on projects/assignments.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a government agency or another politically governed organization.
  • Experience collaborating with civil society or municipal operations.
  • Knowledge of violence prevention and crime prevention work.

Personal Qualities

As a person, you are engaged and good at prioritizing. You thrive both working independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and external contacts. It is important that you have a good ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

Conditions

Permanent employment, which normally begins with a six-month probationary period.

Location

The position is based in Växjö.

MUCF aims to utilize the qualities that a balanced gender distribution and diversity bring to the organization. At MUCF, we care about good employee engagement.
