The Stockholm East area includes the two closed prisons Österåker and Täby. Here, we mainly employ correctional officers, but also healthcare personnel, teachers, administrators, production leaders, and other important professional groups. The clients at the prisons are engaged in various activities, including education, treatment programs, workshop work, and assembly and packaging tasks – all to create structure, meaning, and conditions for a better future.

Österåker prison is in an exciting expansion phase with new prison places and activity facilities coming into operation between 2025 and 2027. There are good opportunities to grow with the organization – both in terms of the number of employees and in new, exciting roles. The prison is located outside Åkersberga – perfect for those who appreciate avoiding rush hour traffic. Car is the easiest way to get here. Täby prison is a small facility with a family-like environment and good commuting options. Both prisons offer staff parking.

We care about a health-promoting work environment - therefore, there is a staff gym at Österåker prison. There is also a popular staff restaurant where you can eat and socialize with your colleagues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a chef at Österåker prison, you will be part of a close-knit team of seven people, consisting of six chefs and one kitchen manager.
