We are now strengthening our office in Linköping to get even closer to our industrial partner Saab Aeronautics. Together we are further developing Swedish combat aircraft and the propulsion systems of the future – linked to the JAS 39 Gripen and upcoming engine programs.

With us, you will work with both existing and future engine solutions. It is about further developing today’s technology while also shaping the next generation of systems.

As a Technical Lead, you will have a broad role where you work at the interface between technology, projects, and customers. You will be involved where it happens, from technical investigations and verification to dialogue with various partners and authorities.

Examples of tasks:

• Coordinate technical issues between our project teams at GKN Aerospace in Trollhättan and Saab in Linköping.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of existing engine systems

• Participate in verification and testing of new solutions

• Be involved in concept and technology development for future propulsion systems

• Collaborate with partners, customers, and end-users as well as FMV and the Armed Forces.

The role is shaped based on your experience, but we are looking for someone with a systems engineering perspective who thrives in a coordinating function.

The position is located in Linköping, where you will have an independent role with significant responsibility in your daily work. At the same time, you will become part of a close collaboration with our teams in Trollhättan – both remotely and, if necessary, on-site workdays in Trollhättan.

Your profile

This is a coordinating and independent role that suits you who enjoy coordinating and making different parts work together. You are structured, solution-oriented, and have the ability to coordinate technology, people, and requirements. You take responsibility, drive issues forward, and enjoy collaborating with others.

You have several years of experience from the industry, preferably within aviation or another field with advanced technical systems. The most important thing is that you have a good understanding of systems and are used to working systematically with technology in collaboration with others.

We believe that you:

• Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in, for example, mechanical engineering, engineering physics, electrical engineering, or similar.

• Have experience in systems work, verification, or technical coordination

• Master Swedish and English well, both spoken and written.

• Are open to travel within Sweden and internationally as needed

It is an advantage if you have experience from the aerospace industry, work with safety-critical systems, or knowledge of Systems Engineering.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.

About GKN Aerospace Governmental Solutions manages our operations regarding military aircraft engines. The business is primarily focused on the JAS 39 Gripen engines RM12 and RM16, but also includes work on next-generation engine concepts. Within the engineering organization, essential parts of the operations are related to engine performance, control systems, whole engine issues, engine subsystems (electrical systems, oil systems, air systems, fuel systems, etc.), intra-module issues, systems safety, and aircraft installation.
