We are now recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for Scanfil in Åtvidaberg

Do you want to work closely with production and follow your design all the way from idea to finished product? At Scanfil Åtvidaberg, you will have the opportunity to do just that – in a role where technology, quality, and collaboration are at the center.

We are now looking for a committed and analytical Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to help develop the products of the future together with us and our customers.

About the role

As a mechanical design engineer with us, you will work with design in SolidWorks and develop modules and products according to project plans, applicable standards, and legal requirements. You will be an important part of the project team and contribute technically throughout the development process.

You will among other things:

  • Ensure clear and well-defined specifications before starting design

  • Develop and verify products and modules

  • Create prototypes for manufacturability

  • Establish and quality assure drawing documentation

  • Document work according to applicable instructions

  • Report project status, risks, and limitations to the project manager

  • Follow up and report spent and planned time for good project control

  • Work with sustainable design choices focusing on cost, quality, and environment

  • Contribute to continuous improvements and stay updated on trends and best practices

  • Participate in customer and sales meetings and support with cost calculations in the quotation process

Examples of assignments

With us, you will work on varied and technically exciting projects, such as:

  • Product development and further development of new and existing products

  • Design responsibility within mechanics

  • VA/VE work (redesign and improvement for cost optimization)

  • NPI projects (New Product Introduction)

  • Design for manufacturing

  • Design for assembly

We are looking for someone who has

  • A university degree in a relevant engineering field – or equivalent experience

  • Experience in mechanical design in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools

  • Practical experience from manufacturing production

  • Experience in creating drawing documentation

  • Basic knowledge of relevant standards and regulatory requirements

  • Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
