Your Role

Are you interested in working on the development of flight characteristics within Saab Aeronautics? Our mission is to monitor and optimize the weight and balance characteristics of our products. We are centrally involved in ongoing development work to ensure that we analyze and develop designs, equipment, and components in a structured manner. Weight and balance are crucial factors for flying products and are important for competitiveness, profitability, and trust in a demanding global market. We collaborate broadly within the development organization - with designers, production, system developers, and design management - throughout the product lifecycle.

Our area is growing, and we need to strengthen the team with an engineer in mass and weight calculation (mass properties engineer). The work mainly consists of analyzing, calculating, and optimizing properties such as weight, center of gravity, and moment of inertia. The work also includes some practical aspects, such as verifying calculations by participating in weighing in production and of complete aircraft.

You need to have a broad understanding of the aircraft structure and its various subsystems. In this role, you will work with calculations, reviews, and requirements analysis of systems and technical solutions. You will be part of one or more cross-functional teams working on product development.

We offer an exciting area of operations in development, with several new projects within both reconnaissance aircraft and future combat aircraft. The department works closely with design management and other expert groups that influence the aircraft's characteristics. You will also participate in an introduction and development program that provides you with deep expertise in the field and a broad network of contacts.

Your Profile

We are looking for a more experienced candidate with expertise in mechanics, product development, or design.

You have:

• a degree in engineering or equivalent
• at least a few years of relevant work experience

In your daily work, you are structured and meticulous, and you can express yourself well both verbally and in writing in Swedish and English. You are a social person who easily builds good relationships and understands the importance of good customer relations. At the same time, you are independent and a team player. The role offers good opportunities to develop in your field and to initiate and drive new projects.

We prefer that you have experience in any of the following:

• product development, engineering work, or design
• Saab Aeronautics products, especially within Special Missions
• databases
• review and requirements management

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
