About Adult Education

Our adult education consists of SFI (Swedish for Immigrants), tailored education for adults, basic and upper secondary education, vocational training, and commissioned training. Adult education is characterized by great flexibility and adaptability. We need to be responsive to new needs that arise and start and sometimes end courses at short notice.

We are now looking for a study and career counselor who will work in two municipalities in Dalsland. Your primary workplace will be in Bengtsfors, but parts of the position may be located in Åmål.

Job Responsibilities

Working as a study and career counselor in adult education means you need to be flexible and enjoy challenges. In the role of study and career counselor, you will meet a heterogeneous target group. What unites the target group is the desire to strengthen their skills and develop to move forward.

Your responsibilities include guidance conversations, establishing and following up on students' study plans and results. Students studying remotely with external education providers are followed up regularly, and feedback is provided to the student as needed. Other tasks may include assisting with CSN (student financial aid) applications and participating in fairs and other information meetings. Participating in industry council meetings and maintaining good dialogue with local businesses is important. The work also involves collaboration with, among others, the Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, and other municipal units such as labor market and social assistance.

The study and career counselors in adult education in Dalsland are an important professional group that forms a network with regular meetings. In our primary collaboration area, there are also Dals-Ed, Färgelanda, and Mellerud. In the collaboration area, there is free application between municipalities regarding vocational training.

Qualifications

• Degree in study and career counseling.
• Good verbal and written skills in Swedish and English.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in guidance within adult education or guidance related to adult students.
• Experience working with Edlevo (Tieto).
• Digital guidance conversations via MS Teams or Google Meet.
