Business Description

Maria Preschool is located in central Gällivare, close to the library, swimming hall, and museum. We have organized our activities into age-divided groups. The preschool consists of 2 buildings with separate yards. In one building, there are 3 departments for children aged 1-2 years. In the other building, there are 5 departments for children in age-divided groups aged 3-5 years. At Maria Preschool, we work in 3, 4, and 5-year groups, which means that the working teams collaborate across departments and provide children with the opportunity to explore and discover different learning environments.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher with us, you will play a central role in shaping children's learning and development. You will lead the teaching and educational work in close collaboration with the work team.

• You inspire and guide children through teaching.
• You support and challenge each child to develop their abilities, grow in their curiosity, and discover new competencies.
• You provide security and care in all everyday situations, always focusing on the children's best interests.
• You create good relationships with the children's guardians through open and trusting collaboration.
• You are responsible for documentation and contribute to continuous quality work that drives the organization forward.
• You create engaging activities that are fun, meaningful, and tailored to the children's needs and interests – both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a qualified preschool teacher and thus eligible for certification. We prefer that you have previous experience working with children. You have a positive attitude and an interest in developing working methods and sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

You will need to provide a police clearance certificate for work in schools and childcare upon employment.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment 100%. A probationary period may apply.
