The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing instruction from preschool to grade 6. The foundation of the teaching is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has activities in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the school's governing documents and from the Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with the other staff at the school. You will also engage in other work alongside the staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a certified teacher for grades 1-3. You must be proficient in Sámi, both spoken and written. You have a positive view of people and the ability to build good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are meticulous, flexible, and responsive to the needs of students, and you enjoy working with children and youth. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with a proven ability to collaborate effectively.
