About the Position

The family centers in Örebro Municipality serve as a meeting place for parents and families with children aged 0-6 years. The family centers are a significant resource in the Social Services' preventive activities and require close collaboration with Education and Region Örebro. We have seven family centers in Örebro Municipality, and the role of the social worker involves supporting children, parents, and relatives of individuals with various types of issues. You are expected to handle complex conversations, present to groups, and be responsible for different meeting formats.

• participate in group activities
• conduct individual support conversations and parent-supporting contacts
• participate in open activities
• outreach tasks
• conduct home visits in collaboration with the Region

About the Workplace

The family centers belong to the area of Advice, Support, and Reception within Social Services. There are seven family centers located in Baronbackarna, Brickebacken, Oxhagen, Varberga, Vivalla, Ladugårdsängen, and Odensbacken. Here, you will find educators, social workers, child health care nurses, and midwives. There are 1-2 social workers per family center, but there are also meeting forums and collaboration spaces that ensure all social workers stay connected for collegial support and cooperation.

Qualifications

In the role of social worker at the family centers, you need to be a secure and stable person who builds trust in meetings with children, parents, and relatives. You meet people with attentiveness and respect, handle both planned and spontaneous contacts, and can engage in complex conversations without losing your professional integrity.

You plan and structure your work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and smoothly transition between individual conversations, group activities, and open activities. The work is characterized by collaboration with multiple professions, which requires you to work constructively and contribute to a good collegial climate. You adapt your approach based on the situation and target group, maintain calm even when the pace varies, and communicate clearly in both speech and writing, with good quality in documentation.

Requirements:

• degree in social work of 210 credits, or another academic education of at least 210 higher education credits that the employer considers equivalent
• manual B driver's license

Meritorious:

• documented experience in psychosocial work with children and parents
• experience or knowledge of MI or other conversation methodologies
• training in ICDP (International Child Development Program)
• training in ABC (All Children in Focus)
• training in BiFF (Children in Parents' Focus)
