About the position

Advice and Support is a new unit within Social Services since 2024. The mission is to make social services' supportive and advisory efforts more accessible to citizens in Örebro municipality. The target group is individuals aged 0-100 years, but we primarily focus on meeting families with children/youth living in our most vulnerable areas. The operation is in a development phase where we are collectively creating our working methods and approaches. The focus is to meet individuals/families in various ways who seek support and help to improve their daily lives. This can range from help understanding their mail to providing support to parents who have had their children placed. The work can be done in collaboration with other actors such as schools, preschools, associations, and other authorities. We strive to find entry points to our large residential areas to be easily accessible to the people living there.

As the unit is relatively new and in a development phase, we need curiosity and flexibility regarding the content of the work. Together, we will create our working methods and routines for this.

Examples of tasks:

The mission of the Advice and Support unit is to meet people in various types of conversations to support the changes they wish to make. This may also involve accompanying individuals to various meetings/events and representing social services in different collaborative forms. We also have a targeted mission to offer support to parents who, for various reasons, do not live with their children. Our work is conducted in different environments based on individual needs, e.g., in the Advice and Support premises, at school, or in the home.

About the workplace

Advice and Support consists of a team of 12 people including a team leader. The unit has two administrative offices, one in Vivalla and one centrally located in Örebro, but work can also take place at locations throughout Örebro municipality. The unit is also connected to the municipality's seven Family Centers.

Qualifications

In the role of counselor/therapist, you need to be a secure and stable person who meets individuals in vulnerable situations with respect, attentiveness, and a professional approach. You take responsibility for your work, structure and drive processes forward while actively contributing to the development of a changing organization. You adapt easily to new conditions and individual needs, remain calm even in pressured situations, and make well-founded priorities. Through clear and trust-building communication, both verbally and in writing, you collaborate constructively with colleagues and other actors, ensuring that messages and documentation maintain good quality.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• social worker or other education equivalent to 210 credits that the employer considers equivalent
• driver's license for manual transmission

Desirable:

• experience working with outreach social work
• experience in foster care
• experience collaborating with other authorities/organizations
• experience with parenting support programs ABC and/or Connect
