Psychologist for the Swedish Armed Forces

About the unit
F 16 Försvarshälsan is an internal occupational health service for the employees of the Swedish Armed Forces and is tasked with providing promotional, preventive, and post-help interventions to employed personnel at the individual, group, and organizational levels. In addition, free health and medical care is also offered to conscripts, students, and cadets. Försvarshälsan is part of the 163rd Garnbataljonen and plays an important role in addressing the tasks and challenges that Sweden and the Armed Forces face. At Uppsala Garnison, there are several units including the Air Staff, Air Combat School, and the Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Center, and we provide services to all units and conscripts within the Garnison.
Main tasks
As a psychologist within Försvarshälsan, you will primarily work clinically with patients, both conscripts and employed personnel, which requires you to enjoy this and see it as the foundation of your daily work. We have a health-promoting, preventive, and rehabilitative approach and plan and execute much together in our psychology team. The tasks primarily include treatments, educational and development initiatives, but also psychosocial work environment and health issues.
Your tasks include, among others:
- Support conversations and talk therapy
- Return conversations for individuals after completed missions
- Stress and conflict management
- Crisis and support conversations
- Manager support
- Participate in rehabilitation work in consultation with other staff
- Work ability assessments
- Educational initiatives
- Work environment surveys and investigations

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Licensed psychologist with a focus on CBT
- At least 5 years of current clinical experience as a licensed psychologist
- Driving license B

Employment type: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Work location: Uppsala. Service at another location may occur.
Working hours: Working hours are mainly weekdays and daytime, but service may also be scheduled outside regular working hours.

Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting unit:
Uppland Air Flotilla, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and monitoring of Uppsala airport as well as training conscripts in several different positions in the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs combat aircraft in the air and manages the ongoing monitoring of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several different locations in the country and is an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is facing.
