Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice by phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us as we adapt our services based on the needs of the residents. Already, we offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

We are looking for a nurse for the Primary Care Department Tierp Älvkarleby!

Are you a newly graduated nurse who wants to contribute to the development of the Primary Care Department in Tierp? We offer a full-time temporary position, rotating shifts: days, evenings, weekends, and nights, from June 2026 to April 2027.

Your mission

As a nurse with us, you will work together with the rest of the team to meet the patient's needs for medical care. In addition to providing the best possible care to our patients, you will also be involved in continuing to develop the department. As a nurse with us, you will have a varied job, and we work based on a flexible team-based approach in collaboration.

We work together to create a cohesive care process where everyone knows their role and where everyone can contribute to clarity and safety for patients and relatives. We work based on person-centered care, where great importance is placed on the patient's active participation in planning their care.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a newly graduated licensed nurse and find it exciting to be part of the continued development of the department. As a person, you are positive, engaged, unpretentious, and empathetic with the ability to see the patient's needs and have good collaboration skills with other professional competencies. You should be able to contribute to a good work climate and not be averse to new working methods. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Our operation

The Primary Care Department is part of the care center Tierp-Älvkarleby and started around-the-clock care on January 16, 2023. The department operates 24/7 and is located in the same building as the Tierp health center and emergency reception, between Uppsala and Gävle, with good commuting opportunities.

We currently have 18 care places with relatively short hospital stays and adapted admission and discharge flows. The department primarily serves elderly patients with complex needs who require inpatient care but do not require the specialist resources of a hospital. We also provide some day care. The operation is a great workplace to start working as a newly graduated nurse, where you have colleagues for support. It is also a place for development as an experienced nurse, as we have a wide range of patients.
