Our Operations

The occupational therapists at Uppsala University Hospital work in many different areas throughout the hospital and meet patients in inpatient care, day care, and outpatient care. Uppsala University Hospital is a university hospital with a mission to provide healthcare and conduct research.

Your Mission

We are looking for a new colleague who is interested in working with the most important thing a person has – the brain, an exciting job that allows you to contribute with your specific professional expertise.

The current position includes work in the inpatient department (primarily the neurology department but also the neurosurgery department) as well as in teams. The foundation for the working method is multiprofessional teams based on a holistic view of the patient. Your placement will be in the NPH team, but also opportunities to assist in the MNS and Huntington teams may arise.

Your tasks will involve assessment and investigation of neurological diseases/conditions from an occupational therapy perspective. This includes, for example, assessment of P-ADL, hand function, and cognition. You are also an important cog in the discharge process where you assist with assistive device evaluation and prescription. As an occupational therapist at Uppsala University Hospital, you are also part of a larger network of occupational therapists who together are responsible for meeting patients on referral, in other parts of the hospital.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. We consider it an advantage if you have clinical experience in neurology/neurosurgery, knowledge of cognition, and experience in teamwork. However, we also welcome you who are newly graduated and want to develop in the field. In our recruitment, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Your Competence

The work involves close contact with patients and staff, which requires good communication skills, flexibility, a well-developed ability to collaborate, and organizational skills. You adapt and find win-win solutions through an unpretentious focus on the common goal, and you quickly find solutions to emerging problems. We would like you to have the ability to prioritize and create structure among your various tasks, as well as the courage to act according to your own convictions.
