Your mission
As a nurse with us, you will work together with others in the team to meet the patient's needs for specific and medical care. We work together to create a cohesive care process where everyone knows their role and where everyone can contribute to clarity and safety for patients and relatives.
As a newly graduated nurse, we offer you four weeks of onboarding and KUÅ during your first year. We also provide a mentor so you can feel extra secure and have good opportunities for professional development.
Your competence
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and enjoy taking overall responsibility and have a desire to continuously develop the operations. If you have experience in inpatient care and/or are specialized, it is an advantage. In addition to providing the best possible care to our patients, you are flexible, have good communication and collaboration skills, and actively contribute to the work in the team. As a person, you are structured and proactive and contribute to the development of our fine operations. You are positive, unpretentious, and empathetic with the ability to see the patient's needs, both in the big and small. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
Our operations
At the Care Unit in Uppsala (NÄVA), we can offer a work environment where we thrive and have fun at work. We work closely together in the team where many professional categories are included. We have our own physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and a pharmacist who assist with preparations and handling of medications in daily work. We are also proud to have several specialist doctors in general medicine, geriatrics, and internal medicine. The breadth of professional categories and competencies among us allows us to meet the patient's complex needs and give them the time they often need. As a result, we have very few readmissions and a high degree of satisfied patients and relatives.
The Care Unit is part of the Department of Close Care and Health, Region Uppsala, and is located in the picturesque Ulleråkers area in Uppsala. We primarily cater to elderly patients who need inpatient care but do not require the hospital's resources for investigation. Some common reasons for admission to us are infections, heart failure, pain relief and mobilization, medication adjustments, uncomplicated fractures, and symptom-relieving blood transfusions. Patients come either via referral from primary care, through direct admission from the Mobile Care Team, or from the emergency department at Akademiska Hospital. The average length of stay is about 10 days. We have 30 care places.
