The Neuropsychiatry area is one of five adult psychiatric areas within Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Here, specialized psychiatric care is provided with a focus on neuropsychiatry, memory-related diseases, acute psychiatric care within geriatric psychiatry, deaf psychiatry, and Huntington's disease. We collaborate closely with other care providers and conduct extensive research and development work.

The Center for Huntington's Disease (CHS) is a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, neuropsychologists, and clinical psychologists. The clinic is responsible for patients throughout Västra Götaland and Halland and works with both clinical care, consultations, and research.

The Memory Clinic conducts specialized investigations, diagnostics, and follow-ups of patients with suspected or confirmed cognitive diseases, in close collaboration with several professions and research projects.

We are now looking for a specialist physician who wants to work in a combined position: 50% at the Center for Huntington's Disease and 50% at the Memory Clinic.

As a specialist physician with us, you will have a varied and stimulating position where you work within two highly specialized areas characterized by complex patient flows and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

50% Center for Huntington's Disease (CHS)

Here you will, among other things:

• Conduct medical assessments and follow-ups of individuals with Huntington's disease and individuals in risk groups
• Perform medication assessments and manage both psychiatric and somatic issues
• Participate in teamwork and care planning with multiple care providers
• Contribute to CHS's educational mission towards other services
• Participate in research projects, including recruitment and clinical assessments

50% Memory Clinic

Here you will, among other things:

• Conduct memory investigations, diagnostics, and follow-ups of cognitive diseases
• Work in a team with other professionals in the memory area
• Contribute to the development of the clinic's care processes and working methods
• Participate in research and development projects

The position gives you the opportunity to develop within two exciting and knowledge-intensive areas, where you work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry or neurology
• Enjoys team-based work and has good collaboration skills
• Has a structured, attentive, and unpretentious working style
• Is interested in long-term patient flows and complex clinical questions
• Wants to contribute to the development of both clinical practice and research

Previous experience with Huntington's patients or memory investigations is an advantage but not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
