We are looking for several summer substitutes who are interested in working in elderly care with a focus on care homes and short-term accommodation. The summer job period is from week 26 to 33, and there is an opportunity to start as a substitute already now.

NOTE! If you work 8 weeks with us this summer, a bonus of 6000 SEK will be paid! If you also worked with us last summer, an additional 1000 SEK will be paid!

JOB DESCRIPTION

There are six different care homes in the municipality of Mariestad, one of which includes short-term accommodation. Working in these homes means you will support individuals with caring and social needs.

The tasks are varied and include personal care such as assisting with toilet and shower situations, dressing and undressing, distributing medications, helping with meals, and service tasks such as laundry, simple cooking, and social interaction. Various activities are also organized at the homes where you will have an active role in implementation. Activities may include playing games, reading books, listening to music, playing bingo, reading newspapers, baking, cooking, coffee gatherings, etc. During weekends, we usually have a little Friday fun and eat something nice in front of the TV.

You will work in a team with several colleagues on the same department, and you may also help between different departments in the home where you work.

This job is for you who are outgoing and enjoy collaborating with colleagues and contributing to meaningful activities for the elderly. You will have contact with colleagues, unit managers, nurses, and relatives during a work shift.

The working hours are mixed, and you will work day shifts, evening shifts, and weekend shifts. There are also opportunities for night shifts at some workplaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone who has completed or is currently pursuing a nursing education, childcare education, or other equivalent education. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with experience working with people in need of support or experience from service occupations.

You should be engaged and curious in your work and have a high sense of responsibility. Furthermore, you should be attentive to the residents' needs and have a genuine interest in helping other people. You must master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form to communicate with users and document events and other information in your work.

It is very important that you can collaborate well with other colleagues and contribute with flexibility and joy at work.

As two of our homes are located outside the urban area, it is advantageous if you have a driver's license for these workplaces. Experience and knowledge of alternative communication methods are also a plus. Some digital skills are also required as much of the work - both your work schedule and documentation - is handled via apps.

We also expect you to be able to work irregular hours, which means working both during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Due to the requirements of the Swedish Work Environment Authority for care work, you must be 18 years old.
