The Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit has a broad operation with patients of all ages. Today, we have about 180 employees in the field. The obstetric inpatient care includes childbirth services with nearly 1,600 deliveries per year. Our maternity ward has 12 beds, where we care for postpartum women as well as women with complications during their pregnancy and delivery. We take care of delivery patients from a gestational age of 28 weeks. At one of our clinics, we have a well-developed ultrasound service that is part of the daily operations.

The Central Hospital in Kristianstad (CSK) is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Here, emergency care is provided around the clock by qualified staff and about 2,600 dedicated employees. CSK has the resources of a large hospital and the closeness and community of a smaller hospital. The hospital offers residents in the catchment area care with short waiting times across all specialties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a midwife with us, you will work with outpatient care for patients with high-risk pregnancies, prenatal care, as well as in the Delivery/Maternity ward. The position is a rotation position, approximately 50% outpatient work and the remainder in Delivery/Maternity.

As a midwife in obstetrics, you are responsible for providing safe, evidence-based, and person-centered care to pregnant, birthing, and postpartum women and their children. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other team members, including nursing assistants and doctors. In this role, you will manage outpatient patients who are cared for in connection with high-risk pregnancies and other prenatal care. There are opportunities for variation in your tasks through rotation to our different units within delivery/prenatal ward/maternity.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed midwife with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. It is a requirement that you have language skills in Swedish that at least correspond to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale, as well as basic IT skills. Experience in gynecological care, abortion services, or working with victims of violence and abuse is an advantage. It is also beneficial if you have experience with the medical record systems Obstetrix, PASiS, and Melior.
