The area of operation (VO) emergency care and internal medicine offers a spectrum of exciting challenges and opportunities with a focus on the major public diseases. The emergency department is among the largest in the country with over 140,000 visits each year. Inpatient care includes emergency care wards and internal medicine wards. In recent years, outpatient care within the area has developed with internal medicine clinics/day care units and a mobile hospital team to provide medical treatment at home equivalent to inpatient care efforts. The operation has about 1300 employees.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We now welcome two senior physicians to our Emergency Department in Lund.

As a senior physician in the emergency department, you are expected to work both across specialties and according to specialty. Your responsibilities include working as a triage physician, operationally responsible physician, team leader, and alert physician. This requires you to adapt medical interventions in relation to patient benefit and workflow according to the principle of Wise Clinical Choices. Teamwork with various personnel categories is the basis for daily work. The emergency department in Lund also has a broad spectrum of doctors in training. Education/supervision of these future colleagues is explicitly included in the assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to operate within Swedish healthcare and have:

  • specialist competence in emergency care
  • language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale
  • completed or planned course in clinical supervision
  • full-time service of at least five years (documented effective time)
  • clinical skill and independence in emergency care
  • documented teaching and supervisory merits
  • disputation.

The work places high demands on determination, drive, and medical competence. To succeed in the role, you are expected to have exemplary communication skills and can clearly and pedagogically convey knowledge and messages. We expect you to have good collaboration skills and contribute to a positive work environment. You are expected to act as a role model in both the medical and the humanitarian sphere towards patients, physician colleagues, and other professional categories. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision and teaching at various levels.

When you submit your application, you must fill out the questionnaire, which must be complete and correctly filled out. You also need to attach your documents digitally; see under Other what documents you need to send. For us to assess your application, it must be complete.

Welcome with your application!

For the position of assistant senior physician and senior physician, service certificates must also be attached. For senior physician positions, a diploma regarding disputation, certificates of docent status, and a publication list (divided into original publications, review articles, and other publications) may also be required. NOTE! These digital documents are forwarded for expert assessment, so they must accompany your application.
