At the Oncology Outpatient Clinic for Medical Treatment, we work in different teams depending on the cancer diagnosis, and as a nursing assistant, you will work in all teams and rotate between different stations. In addition to the treatment teams, we have a day emergency team. Here we receive patients who need urgent medical care or assessment/intervention for side effects after chemotherapy. We also perform planned dressings, provide pre- and postoperative care during subcutaneous port insertions, and various punctures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be one of four nursing assistants who together are responsible for the treatment area, medical appointments, day emergency, and assisting with piccline insertions.
The tasks vary depending on which station you are assigned to. For example, this may involve receiving patients who come for visits, measuring height and weight, conducting tests, answering the phone, ensuring order in patient rooms, waiting areas, kitchens, and rinsing areas. You will also assist with piccline insertions.
We offer you a varied job where you as a nursing assistant are given good opportunities to develop within the field and in your professional role. You will receive a good introduction by shadowing an experienced colleague.
The position is a parental leave cover for 1.5 years. The work is scheduled during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant and meet the requirements of the National Board of Health and Welfare for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied under previous or current program structures, preferably with a focus on emergency care/healthcare. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. We see that you have work experience as a nursing assistant, preferably from a hospital. Experience in oncology, emergency care, and/or palliative care is an advantage for the position, and knowledge of healthcare administrative systems such as Melior and Pasis is a plus.
As a person, we are looking for someone who is flexible and can adjust your planning according to the situation. You should work with the patient's best interests in mind and enjoy caring for and supporting both patients and their relatives. Additionally, you have a positive attitude and find it easy to collaborate. The work requires commitment, participation, and attentiveness. We place great importance on personal suitability.
