About the Job

We are looking for an occupational therapist for the short-term unit Bagaregården in the city center, where you, together with dedicated colleagues, help patients regain their independence and create conditions for returning to their regular accommodation.

With us, you will meet patients who need support to recover and return to their daily lives. Within the short-term units, the patient flow for admissions and discharges is high, and patients typically stay for around 14 days. The short-term units also care for patients waiting for other accommodations. It is a varied job ranging from intensive rehabilitation to palliative care. We often see clear progress during their stay. Following the development of people on their way back makes the work both meaningful and inspiring.

With us, you have an independent assignment, but you are never alone. You will be part of a cross-professional team where we collaborate closely and always put the patient's needs at the center. You plan and implement interventions that strengthen the patient's activity and functional ability based on person-centered goals. The work also includes supervising nursing staff, delegating rehabilitative interventions, and prescribing and testing assistive devices. You will belong to a new operational area within Health and Medical Care called Short-term and Care Planning and have the opportunity to be part of the operational development focused on the care chain.

"The best thing about short-term care is the development you see in your patients. Many who come to us are very unwell, but when they leave, they feel so much better. For example, we see patients who initially need to be moved with a lift, and after a few weeks can walk by themselves with a walker. It is incredibly fun and stimulating, and we face new challenges every day that we solve together."

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. A B driver's license is desirable. It is meritorious if you have previous experience in geriatric rehabilitation and/or experience in municipal health and medical care.

Showing respect and consideration for the people you meet in your professional role is crucial for creating a safe and trusting relationship with patients. By being attentive to their needs and listening actively, you can tailor your help and treatment to meet their wishes and conditions. The ability to motivate and inspire is also central to the patient's rehabilitation and recovery. By being able to engage and support patients, you help them feel empowered in their ability to take responsibility for their health. The ability to motivate others is often the key to long-term progress.
