RESPONSIBILITIES

As a youth developer, you are responsible for guiding and mentoring young people in the municipality. You are an enthusiastic and creative individual with a passion for creating positive changes for young people. Your role is central to planning and implementing activities and initiatives that promote the well-being and development of youth. You strive to create a safe and inclusive environment and work to promote good integration in society.

You plan and carry out activities that promote youth development in areas such as personal development, creativity, leadership, and community engagement. You do this both individually and together with colleagues. You help staff our meeting places where we meet youth around an interest and an activity, offering a safe environment where we empower youth and provide them with the conditions to grow and develop.

Working proactively and having the ability to establish positive relationships with youth is central to the role of youth developer. You have the entire municipality as your work area, acting both in the central town and in our surrounding areas. You work during the day, in the evenings, and sometimes on weekends; we are simply present when and where youth are.

We do not do the job alone; working with and for youth is done in collaboration with others. Examples of other actors include schools, associations, and authorities. You will be present in youth environments such as schools, outdoor days, and leisure activities where you identify potential challenges and offer support and advice. You support youth both individually and in groups. You will be part of the municipality's team within SSPF, which is an initiative to counteract youth's risk of falling into crime or other risk factors.
