Parent Supportive Curator

Your New Job

As a Parent Supportive Curator with us, you will be part of a workgroup responsible for preventive work and early interventions.

Your workgroup consists of 22 parent supporters, of which 14 work as curators at a family center. At the family center, you will work in preventive social work, either individually or in groups, and in close collaboration with other professionals at the family center. Your role will primarily be parent-supportive in various ways, such as through individual conversations, counseling, and by supporting and leading parents in learning groups.

All parent work is done voluntarily for shorter or longer periods. The family center also provides guidance on where parents can turn in various situations and offers support in contacts with different authorities. You will initiate, participate in, and lead parent groups for parents with both general and specific needs, e.g., parent groups according to Guiding Interaction (ICDP). Some groups are offered in close collaboration with other professionals at family centers or in cooperation with other actors, such as the region's health communicators or preschools. An important task is joint home visits together with Child Health Care.

Your main placement will be at the Family Center Väster, but there may be work in other areas. Some working hours may be scheduled outside of office hours.

Your Competence

You have a completed and approved university degree of at least 180 credits, such as a social work program, behavioral science education, community-oriented education, or other approved and completed education with a bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You have experience in social work, conversation support, and education, and you have good knowledge of child development, parenting, conversation techniques, and the work of social services. It is advantageous if you have experience in collaboration. We work based on ICPD and see it as a benefit if you bring this approach with you.

You are a stable and self-driven person who easily creates and maintains good relationships, and you collaborate well with others. There is a broad and solid competence and experience in the workgroup, and during the introduction, you will receive mentorship support from a colleague.

Welcome to Us

As a parent supporter, your primary task is to support parents in their parenting. In the curator role at the family center, you will work with psychosocial work and early interventions in collaboration with Women's Health Care, Child Health Care, and Open Preschool. The work takes place on both a general and individual level, and the target group is primarily parents with children aged 0-6 years. The overarching goal of the family center is to promote good health among children and parents by early detection and addressing various needs based on the entire family's life situation. A family center conducts activities that are health-promoting, general, early preventive, and supportive, aimed at parents and children aged 0-6 years.
