Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for employees to work with us during the summer of 2026 in the operations dealing with domestic violence and honor-related violence (VINR) as well as Adult Reception and Housing Reception. Common to these sections is that they exercise authority, make qualified assessments, and make decisions regarding assistance according to applicable legislation. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other operations within Malmö City and external actors.
VINR and honor work to assess the right to assistance in the form of protected housing and other interventions based on exposure to violence. The target group includes women, men, and other individuals over 18 years old who are or risk becoming victims of violence from a close relative, including honor-related violence. The operation also provides support to individuals who are victims of trafficking and prostitution. The assignment includes investigation, decision-making, follow-up, and handling urgent protection cases.
Adult Reception is responsible for making an initial assessment and deciding on urgent measures in cases concerning adults, primarily related to harmful use and dependency issues. The work includes processing incoming reports and applications according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Abusers Act (LVM), documentation, and information about support measures and individual rights. Much of the work consists of contact with individuals, both via phone and in-person visits.
Housing Reception is an entry point for homeless residents of Malmö and works to receive and investigate applications for assistance regarding housing according to Chapter 4, Section 1 of SoL. The assignment also includes handling protection cases related to violence outside of relationships and providing advice and support on housing issues. The work is investigative in nature and involves documentation, decision-making, and collaboration with other authorities and operations.
The position also includes scheduled work outside regular office hours as the operation handles urgent cases. You will be offered a structured introduction at the start of employment.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has completed a degree in social work or has an ongoing social work education, with at least 120 credits where you have passed the legal courses with a passing grade, including social law. The work involves a lot of documentation as well as written and verbal communication, which requires you to be well-articulated in Swedish both in speech and writing.
It is an advantage if you have knowledge from an ongoing or completed internship within the social work program. We also prefer candidates with experience in social work, experience within social services, and experience in administrative work.
To thrive in this role, it is important that you have a high ability to collaborate, are communicative, have the ability to listen and identify needs, and can solve problems constructively.
Please note! To be considered for the position, you need to be able to work full-time from June 15 to August 23.
Welcome to an exciting and developing job within social services!
