Kooperativet Hand i Hand is a member-driven organization founded in 1995 for individuals entitled to assistance. Our members are located in Skåne, Halland, southern Småland, Västra Götaland, Stockholm, and Jämtland. We have offices in Halmstad, Hässleholm, and Malmö. We support our members with everything from applying for hours with Försäkringskassan/the municipality to personnel issues regarding personal assistants. We believe that the work of a personal assistant is one of the most important jobs as it provides an opportunity for another person to live their life like everyone else.

I am now looking for a positive personal assistant with a childlike spirit who can substitute while my regular assistant studies.

I am a positive 30-year-old guy with CP and visual impairment who uses a wheelchair, and I need help with most aspects of my daily life. As a personal assistant, you are an extension of my arms and legs. You, as an assistant, give me the opportunity to live an active life just like many others my age, as daily activities, friends, and leisure activities are a big part of my life. I live with my family in Hässleholm, and a driver's license is not required as there are good bus connections to my home.

I am looking for someone who is attentive, self-assured, and understands what good care is; both physically and mentally. Being smoke-free is a requirement. It is important that you are good at communicating, and you should also be flexible, empathetic, and thorough. Lifting is part of the job. Being able to take initiative and enjoying it when things happen and coming up with activities is important for the future assistant.

The work is scheduled during daytime and evening hours, both weekdays and weekends. There is the possibility of more hours during sick leave, etc. Training and/or experience as a personal assistant is an advantage, but not a requirement as the most important thing is that the personal chemistry is right.
