Within the social care administration, about 1200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, and social psychiatry, individual and family care.

Disability services and social psychiatry is one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS housing, daily activities, housing support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are about 250 employees who, with great commitment, work with the individual's needs at the center and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work purposefully to ensure that our operations have high competence and quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an escort or contact person, you will support an individual in their daily life, help with practical tasks, and contribute to their social life. You will create a safe and positive relationship by being a responsive and caring presence.

The assignment is based on regular meetings with the person you support, for example, once a week or month, depending on needs and agreements. It is not an employment in the traditional sense, but a meaningful assignment where you make a difference in someone's everyday life.

Contact Person (Compensated Assignment)

The assignment as a contact person means that with your presence and engagement, you help counteract isolation and loneliness. You meet the person in need of your help a certain number of times per month based on a support decision. Based on the person's needs, you will jointly decide what you want to do during your time together. You can meet and go out, talk, bake, walk, watch movies, or engage in other activities. The most important thing is not the activities themselves but that you meet and socialize.

The idea behind the meetings is that the person you are a contact person for should receive support in breaking their isolation and loneliness and also be encouraged to participate in community activities. With you as support, they can feel secure in having fun together with a friend and perhaps try new activities.

Escort (Hourly Employment)

As an escort, you will regularly meet a person with disabilities who needs support and encouragement to participate in meaningful and stimulating leisure activities. Through your engagement, you contribute to the individual being given the opportunity to participate in activities and create social contacts.

The assignment involves being a support in getting out, participating in community life, and promoting participation on equal terms. This may involve accompanying them to leisure, cultural, or sports activities or supporting the individual in maintaining contact with friends and acquaintances.

Your contribution as an escort is an important part of strengthening the individual's independence, participation, and quality of life.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is attentive, relationship-oriented, and observant in contact with others. You have the ability to maintain professionalism based on your assignment and work with a focus on the individual's needs and interests.

You should have a good ability to take initiative, as you will be responsible for planning and carrying out meetings and activities. It is important to stay updated on what is happening in the city and what activities are offered to enable a rewarding leisure and community life.

Meritorious:

• Previous experience as an escort and/or contact person
• Work experience within LSS and/or SoL
• B driver's license
