Housing Social Worker at the Employment Administration
Staffanstorp is a young and expanding municipality with just over 27,000 inhabitants, one of Sweden's best business climates, attractive living environments, and schools among the absolute best in the country. Our approximately 1,200 employees work to create high-quality service, safety, and quality of life for our residents. Whether you teach children to read and count, offer culture and music, provide safety and care, or develop the municipality's streets and squares, you contribute to creating good days for those who live and work in Staffanstorp.
As an employee of the municipality, you are part of an organization with high participation and quick decision-making paths. You will have strong collegial support as we work together to realize ideas and thoughts. Our operations are characterized by trust in one another and present leadership. If you want a meaningful job where you make a difference, welcome to us!
EMPLOYMENT ADMINISTRATION
The Employment Administration has a broad area of responsibility, including individual and family care, labor market initiatives, adult education, municipal activity responsibility, and integration. Our work is based on a holistic view, participation, and individual responsibility. Through our support, care, and treatment initiatives, we aim to strengthen people's ability to change and increase independence.
The administration consists of five units: Children and Family, Support and Treatment, Adults, Reception and Guidance, and Quality and Operational Support.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate about municipal housing issues and want to make a real difference for people in vulnerable situations? We are now looking for a committed housing social worker for a temporary position while our regular caseworker is on parental leave.
With us, you will have an independent and responsible role with a strong focus on legally secure authority exercise, collaboration, and preventive work. The position is based on authority exercise and assistance decisions according to the Social Services Act regarding temporary and more long-term housing solutions. This can involve everything from emergency assistance in the form of financial support to more permanent measures. You will be responsible for the entire process, from application and investigation to decision, implementation, and follow-up. You will work independently but will regularly receive support from the senior social worker and unit manager.
You will work motivatingly and guidingly to strengthen the individual's ability to take responsibility for their housing and finances. You will support clients in obtaining or maintaining their own rental agreements through preventive measures. The work includes close follow-ups, management of both emergency apartments and more permanent apartments, as well as strategic work with housing supply, eviction prevention, and mapping homelessness in the municipality. Since the municipality does not have its own apartments to mediate, good and professional collaboration with private landlords is crucial.
In 2026, we have started an enhanced eviction prevention effort to detect and manage situations that risk leading to eviction early. As a housing social worker, you are a key person in this work. The goals are that no family with children in Staffanstorp municipality should be evicted, that adults should receive timely support to avoid losing their homes, and that collaboration between the municipality and private landlords should be clear and trustworthy.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant higher education. You have experience in authority exercise, preferably in financial assistance, housing issues, harmful use and dependence, and domestic violence.
You have good knowledge of the Social Services Act, are structured, independent, and confident in making decisions. You have good collaboration skills and are skilled at building trusting relationships. It is an advantage if you have experience in eviction prevention work and collaboration with landlords.
A valid driver's license is required.
