JOB DESCRIPTION

The Short-Term Stay offers support to children and young people with autism or other disabilities within the framework of LSS. The operation is based on each child's and young person's individual needs and aims to promote development, stimulation, and participation in everyday life. You should enjoy participating in physical activities and being outdoors.

The Short-Term Stay has five places and offers a safe and adapted environment where children and young people can experience a change of scenery, social community, and meaningful activities.

With us, each child's unique needs are in focus. We work from a holistic perspective where safety, participation, and development are fundamental values.

Our pedagogical approach is based on low-arousal responses, clear pedagogical methods, and a strong focus on alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and sign language support (TAKK).

As a support assistant, you play an important role in developing the pedagogical work together with colleagues and creating an environment that is safe, clear, and stimulating for children and young people.

You will be part of a competent and dedicated team where there are good opportunities to influence and further develop working methods and approaches in daily work.

Your mission and tasks as a support assistant include:

• Guiding and supporting children and young people during their stay
• Using methods and approaches that facilitate communication
• Working with pedagogical tools and structured support
• Being responsible for social documentation and the establishment and follow-up of implementation plans

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree as a nursing assistant or support assistant, education in the child and leisure program, or other post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent, such as support pedagogy and social pedagogy.
• Experience and knowledge of working with children and young people with various disabilities.
• Good knowledge and experience of clear pedagogical methods, emotion regulation, TAKK, and AAC, Studio 3.
• The ability to work in a structured, independent manner and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills.
