Exciting things are happening in our municipality, specifically in Sibbhult. The Support Services are starting a brand new initiative for short-term accommodation and supervision for children and youth according to LSS, and we are looking for you who want to be involved from the very beginning.

Here you will have the chance to influence, shape, and build a safe and meaningful place for young people with disabilities. A place where you make a difference every day!

We are looking for four permanent support assistants for 80-100%. We are also seeking summer substitutes to cover for regular staff during vacations. Please specify in your application which position you are applying for.

With us, children and youth will have the opportunity for a change of environment, community, and activities that enhance their independence and quality of life. You will be an important part of a team together with support assistants, support pedagogues, and a unit manager. Together, we will build a service characterized by safety, quality, clear structure, and always focusing on the child's best interests.

Your tasks will be varied, meaningful, and creative.

As a support assistant, you will work closely with children and youth with various disabilities. You will support them in their daily lives and help them develop skills that prepare them for the future. The work may include:

• Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive environment
• Working with clear pedagogical methods and low-arousal responses
• Supporting with activities, social contacts, meals, and personal care
• Being creative and coming up with activities both indoors and outdoors based on individual needs
• Managing and preventing challenging behaviors in a professional and calm manner
• Documenting, following up, and working based on implementation plans
• Collaborating with guardians, schools, and other professionals

Our children and youth services will closely collaborate with other services, which means you need to be flexible and able to work in other services as needed.

Working hours are during the day, evenings, and weekends. On-call duty may be required in the future.

A background check must be presented before employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have at least a high school education, for example:

• Child and Leisure Program (social and educational work)
• Care and Nursing Program with a focus on disabilities

You may also have training as a leisure educator or other education focused on children, youth, and/or disabilities that the employer deems relevant.

Requirements:

• Experience working with the target group, e.g., LSS, schools, leisure
• Experience working with low-arousal responses.
• Driver's license (B)
• Criminal record extract (LSS operations)
• Good Swedish in speech and writing
• Basic computer skills and documentation experience

Meritorious:

• Experience with TAKK/AKK
• Experience with clear pedagogical methods
• Knowledge of IF, NPF

• Has a pedagogical approach and a genuine interest in working with children and youth
• Is creative and enjoys coming up with activities that create joy and participation
• Is attentive, empathetic, and has good collaboration skills
• Has perseverance and the ability to motivate and work structured even in challenging situations
• Enjoys working both independently and in a team
