Family Therapist at Örkelljunga Municipality
Örkelljunga is part of “Familjen Helsingborg,” where 11 municipalities in the expanding northwest Skåne work together to benefit the common region. Örkelljunga is a municipality with a stable economy and currently has just over 10,000 inhabitants. Örkelljunga is characterized by proximity, where strong collaboration and short decision-making paths constitute the municipality's strength. Here, as an employee, you have a greater opportunity to influence your personal development as well as the overall development of the organization. In Örkelljunga Municipality, we work with a professional approach characterized by our three core values: knowledge, care, and action. As part of Örkelljunga Municipality, you have the opportunity to work across boundaries and make a significant difference.
The Social Services Department in Örkelljunga Municipality consists of social services, elderly care, municipal health care, care for people with disabilities, and preventive functions. We are organized into a preventive unit, a governing unit, and an execution unit. Our guiding principle is teamwork, utilizing the strength of a small municipality to work closely together in short decision-making paths for an efficient organization and a service-oriented perspective.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a family therapist, your main focus will be to offer qualified process-oriented psychosocial change work directed at children and adolescents up to 18 years old and their families. The role of the family therapist also includes individual interventions for adults related to domestic violence and honor-related violence. Since we only have one therapist working with adults who have risky behavior, harmful use, and addiction, it is important that you can also be an asset in working with this target group.
The position involves varied working methods with different types of therapeutic conversations, where manual-based methods and models may be included and sometimes complemented with practical and concrete work. The job includes tailoring how the assignment's goals should be achieved together with the family or the individual. It is essential to collaborate with other stakeholders around the child/young person or adult, such as schools, child and adolescent psychiatry/adult psychiatry, habilitation, and other care providers, leisure activities, and other authorities, etc. Therefore, we prefer that you have the ability to coordinate and drive various processes around the individual from a holistic perspective. Close and good collaboration with the governing unit and other nearby activities within the organization regarding the child/young person or adult is a given prerequisite. You are responsible for the entire treatment process and have documentation obligations.
The preventive unit is transitioning to the new Social Services Act, which entails requirements for short- and long-term redistribution of resources, new routines, and other working methods aimed at working more preventively, being easily accessible and knowledge-based, promoting equal and equitable living conditions, and having a clearer child rights perspective, among other things. The position includes both needs-assessed and non-needs-assessed interventions, at both individual and group levels. Everything from individual conversations to leading groups based on a model, method, or various themes. Part of working preventively and being easily accessible means that it is important to create and establish various networks and collaborative forms that are cross-border and transprofessional.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in social work or behavioral science, or another higher education degree deemed equivalent. You need to have several years of experience in social work with children, adolescents, adults, parents, and/or families, as well as good knowledge of the Social Services Act and other governing laws relevant to the field. It is advantageous if you have experience with various methods and/or models such as Tryggare barn, Trappan, ICDP, FFT, Hela barn, MI, BBIC, etc. It is also advantageous if you have good knowledge of child development at different ages, mental health issues, neuropsychiatric problems, substance abuse and addiction, and domestic violence. You value a good therapeutic alliance with clients and have a professional, non-judgmental, and low-arousal approach in your interactions. You are responsible, self-driven, and structured. We also value flexible thinking, good adaptability, and clear communication skills. A valid driver's license is required, and evening work may occur.
