System Developer at the Swedish Authority for Military Recruitment and Assessment

Do you want to contribute to safety and security in Swedish society? And do it in a workplace where we care for each other and work together, then you have come to the right place!

As a system developer, you will work in self-driven, responsible, and initiative-taking agile teams.

Each day begins with a check-in where you and your team review what you are working on and address any obstacles. You will then continue with development – perhaps building on a microservice or improving an existing three-tier system. Later in the day, you will collaborate with the business to transform needs into technical solutions. The day may end with you testing and documenting a new feature you have built. You might also look at how you can improve the performance of the existing system – all with a focus on stability, utility, and quality.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of system developer, you will develop and maintain systems both in traditional three-tier solutions and in microservice-based architecture. You will also support the business in formulating requirements.

Professional development and collaboration with the business mean that you will have the opportunity to grow both in technology and our business processes.

Your Qualifications

As a system developer, you need:

  • A university degree in fields such as computer science, or another field deemed equivalent by the employer, or equivalent competence acquired in another way.
  • Work experience in system development in Java.
  • Experience working with relational databases (MS SQL and/or IBM Informix) from a developer's perspective.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you have experience with:

  • Microservices.
  • React and/or REST.
  • Git and/or GitLab.
  • Documenting solutions in a systematic way.

Your Personal Qualities

The role requires you to work well with different people and the ability to relate to them in a responsive manner. You have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while working towards goals. You also find it easy to organize and prioritize your work effectively. If you encounter setbacks, you are resilient and remain motivated, driving the work forward until the project is completed.

About the Employment

This is a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period. Start date by agreement.

The work is expected to take place mainly on-site at the office as we do not offer any remote work agreements. We hope this can contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. As an employee, you have the opportunity to exercise during work hours and are offered a favorable wellness allowance. You also receive parental leave supplements and up to 35 vacation days depending on age. Read more on our website (https://www.pliktverket.se/om-myndigheten/jobba-hos-oss/formaner-och-villkor).

The position is security classified, and we therefore conduct a security review with a background check according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in a military position.
