As a special education teacher, you are employed within the central Education Office.

Your main task is to teach students with psychosocial difficulties, such as behavioral problems, school absenteeism, or social obstacles through relational work, conversations, mapping, and follow-up. The assignment is partially directed towards an acute school where you, together with a colleague with psychosocial competence, are responsible for providing support to students temporarily placed in the acute school.

Your role also includes contributing to safety, well-being, and study peace, where you participate in initiatives that strengthen the school environment. You work closely with class teachers, student health teams, and principals to identify and meet each student's needs in the best way, where interdisciplinary conversations are fundamental. You provide advice to school staff and are active in planning and follow-up regarding the student's interventions and return to regular schooling. You collaborate with guardians and external actors such as social services and child and adolescent psychiatry. When no students are placed in the acute school, you will work to ensure safety and study peace at one of our other primary schools.

Your teaching is individually adapted and aims to confirm, support, and motivate students, both inside and outside the classroom. You are responsible for planning, teaching, documentation, and follow-up of the student's achievement and knowledge. This requires that you are involved in the daily work, where you both teach and plan for various situations that may arise. You contribute to developing a safe, creative, and solution-focused learning environment.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a certified teacher for primary school with special education training, or is currently undergoing training to become a special education teacher.
• Has solid knowledge of learning and uses various strategies to reach each student.
• Is experienced in documenting according to current guidelines.
• Has a driver's license and access to a car as the assignment will be at different schools during different periods.
• It is an advantage if you have previous experience of a comprehensive special education role.
• It is an advantage if you have worked in collaboration with schools, social services, or similar activities as well as with multilingual students.

To succeed in the role, we see that you are clear, structured, and have good communication skills. You find it easy to handle multiple processes simultaneously and take responsibility for driving the work forward. You are secure, attentive, and have a low-arousal approach. You build trusting relationships and have good collaboration skills. We value that you are solution-focused and have a holistic perspective in student work. In your teaching, you are present, reflective, and follow up on students' development through mapping and assessment together with the principal. You are confident in your professional role, enjoy working in a team, are unpretentious, and flexible in your daily work.
