Job Responsibilities

The ECO2 Vehicle Design Center is now seeking a postdoctoral researcher in methods for the technical implementation of circular networks within the automotive industry.

The successful candidate will conduct research as part of a collaborative project on sustainable design, implementation, and optimization of circular value-creating networks. This involves developing methods and algorithms to determine the quality of circular components and to calculate and allocate their residual value in a circular value-creating network. The role will therefore involve collaboration with research partners and requires both technical and project management skills.

Requirements

  • PhD degree or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be met by the time the employment decision is made.
  • Documented ability to publish work in high-impact international journals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in collaborations and perform critical analysis, along with good collaborative and communicative skills.
  • Scientific proficiency
  • Pedagogical ability
  • Independence

Meritorious

  • At the time of the application deadline, no more than three years should have passed since obtaining the PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD.
  • It is preferred that the applicant has demonstrable experience in lifecycle optimization, data-driven methods, technical design, and sustainable product development.
  • It is also preferred that the applicant can show personal motivation to conduct research leading to scientific publications and to work together with specialists from other disciplines and organizations in this applied research project.
  • Awareness of diversity and equality issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
