WE WANT SWEDEN'S HAPPIEST RESIDENTS. ARE YOU WITH US?
In the municipality of Flen, we are committed to building something long-term. A community where people thrive, grow, and stay. Our new and bold vision, Flen – Sweden's happiest municipality, is more than just words. It is a direction we have chosen together and a reminder of who we are here for. In every interaction with a resident, in every decision we make, in every day we shape – we will think with our hearts. And it starts with us. We are now looking for a self-driven and courageous social worker with good prioritization skills for a parental leave position in the economic assistance unit.
YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a social worker with us, you will work on investigating, assessing, deciding on, and following up on the right to economic assistance according to the Social Services Act (SoL). You are responsible for a legally secure processing throughout the entire process and make decisions according to applicable legislation, guidelines, and delegation orders. An important part of the assignment is to support and motivate people towards self-sufficiency, for example through work, studies, or labor market initiatives.
In your work, you will meet people in various life situations, such as unemployment, homelessness, or dependency issues. You collaborate closely with colleagues and external actors, such as the Employment Service and other partners, to create conditions for sustainable change.
You work based on current legislation and proven experience, with the goal of providing the right intervention to the right person at the right time. An obvious part of the assignment is to meet people with respect, attentiveness, and professionalism, and to involve them in their own process. Our starting point is that every person has resources and the ability to take steps towards increased independence – and you are an important part of that work. The position is a parental leave cover until 2026-12-31.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO:
- Have a degree as a social worker or behavioral scientist, or other education that the National Board of Health and Welfare assesses as equivalent.
- Have a valid driver's license (B).
- Have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
WE HIGHLY VALUE:
- Experience in authority exercise within economic assistance.
- Experience in rehabilitation processes.
YOUR PERSONAL QUALITIES
We believe you are a curious, flexible person who is confident in meeting people in various life situations. You have a respectful and professional approach and are humble in the face of the challenges people may face.
You have a strong commitment to the target group and a clear belief in people's ability to change. With empathy, attentiveness, and a good view of humanity, you create trusting relationships while being secure in your authority role. With us, it is important that you want to contribute, cooperate, and make a difference – both for the individual and for society as a whole.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
WHY WORK WITH US?
In the municipality of Flen, we want to give you good conditions to thrive both at work and outside of it. We offer, among other things, vacation exchange, wellness benefits, and reimbursement for patient fees up to high-cost protection – and there are more benefits than that. Many of our workplaces also have good commuting opportunities.
At our workplace, we take our mission very seriously – while also caring about having fun and enjoying each other's company. With us, professionalism goes hand in hand with humor and warmth.
READY TO APPLY?
We recruit based on competence, and therefore use selection questions instead of a personal letter. Your answers to the questions are an important part of our selection process— please take a little extra time when answering them.
