Social Worker for the Child and Family Investigation Unit
At the Child and Family Investigation Units, we handle cases within social services (IFO) targeting children and young people aged 0-20 years. We work to create social security for children, adolescents, and adults with the goal of achieving social sustainability. Here, you will meet people who, for various reasons, find themselves in difficult situations and need advice, support, or interventions from social services. We are an important part of the municipality's efforts to increase safety, where our mission is to prevent and counteract risk factors such as norm-breaking behavior, mental health issues, and children witnessing violence.
With us, you will receive close leadership with several team leaders in each unit supporting you in your daily work. Additionally, we have several senior caseworkers who are available to assist new employees as needed. When you join us, you will receive thorough onboarding and can rely on clear guidelines. We focus on protective factors and highly value psychological safety.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a social worker in the investigation unit, you will work with authority according to applicable legislation and apply a systems theory perspective supported by Signs of Safety. With the user in focus and normalization as a starting point, the mission is to describe, analyze, and assess needs, engage in motivational work, and enable more children to remain in their home environment with the right support.
The work involves investigating and documenting applications and reports according to SoL, making safety assessments, and making well-founded and quality-assured decisions. You will follow up on interventions and placements, prepare cases according to LVU and LVM, and receive new applications and reports. The role also includes representing in administrative court and presenting cases in committee, with support from team leaders as needed. Collaboration also occurs through participation in external meetings.
You will work equivalently as a consultant, which means you are expected to handle whatever is assigned to you, whether it involves new inflow or distribution in another way.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a qualified social worker or has relevant validated education (Socialstyrelsen's qualification requirements for social workers: 7.5 credits in basic social work, 7.5 credits in advanced social work, 7.5 credits in social law, 7.5 credits in psychology).
You have at least 3 years of experience in authority work, preferably with the target group of children and young people. The Social Services Act and LVU are the foundation of your work, and your knowledge in these areas is important. Documentation is an obvious part of everyday life, so you need to have good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. A valid driver's license with driving experience is required as travel is included in the role.
We are looking for an independent and experienced social worker with a strong ability to handle complex cases. You have a broad foundational experience in the role and are confident in making decisions based on applicable legislation and professional assessments. You have the ability to see the whole picture in the investigative work and assess what is important in each individual case.
You are flexible in your working style and can easily switch between different tasks in a day where the workload may vary and where more urgent cases may also arise. In crisis situations, you act calmly and composed. You work in a structured manner, are resilient to stress, and can adjust your planning as needed. Collaboration and teamwork are a natural part of your work. You are accustomed to and comfortable with collaboration within the organization as well as with external actors. Through your openness and interest in listening to others, you create good relationships with those you meet.
For these positions, a background check is required.
